Grapenuts: Australian and New Zealand
January 10, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Catch up with neighbors and friends for the first Grapenuts of the New Year with a wine tasting facilitated by Sommelier Inga Varney. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine from Australia or New Zealand and an appetizer to share with the group.
Australia is the world’s 4th largest exporter of wine. Best known for Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, you can’t go wrong with any varietal from the down under. In addition, experts consider New Zealand home to some of the world’s best Sauvignon Blanc. Cheers!

About Inga Varney
Inga Varney was trained at the International Wine Guild and is now a Level II Certified Executive Sommelier. She is also the owner of Wine Star Services where she provides an assortment of wine consulting services to consumers, caterers, restaurants, and wine retailers. Varney also hosts educational wine tastings events, consults on wine and food pairing and menu development. She’s excited to share her knowledge of sparkling wine with Grapenuts.
One of DC Ranch’s longest active groups, Grapenuts is a wine appreciation club where residents come together monthly to taste and share wines. Discussion usually centers on the wine region, the cost, and if it was enjoyable. With good food and wine, the setting is the perfect pairing for socializing with your neighbors and friends.
