Playhouse Auditions

The Homestead Playhouse is thrilled to announce auditions for the spring production of The Wizard of Oz: Youth Edition. Residents, neighbors and friends are invited to audition for a role in this delightful musical. The classic tale follows Dorothy, who is swept away by a tornado to the magical land of Oz, embarking on a journey to find her way home with the help of her newfound friends: the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Cowardly Lion. Register below to secure an audition time.
Auditions will be in 45-minute time blocks, to allow for small groups. No preparation is required! Actors who come to auditions will be given small scenes to read, be taught a piece of choreography and will learn and sing a snippet of a song from the show. Please review and fill out the audition packet and bring it with you to auditions. Perusal scripts are available at the Homestead Community Center front desk. Rehearsals for this show are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:30. Rehearsals begin February 6 and the show runs the first week of May. We are looking to cast approximately 30 young people in this play. Not all auditioners will receive a role.
