Trash and recycling collection days change in November

Beginning Nov. 1, City of Scottsdale trash service in DC Ranch will move to Thursdays and recycling pickup to Tuesdays.

The City says the change will improve efficiency and make it easier to process recyclables. Trash and recycling routes have not changed in more than 20 years, becoming unbalanced due to growth. The new collection schedule is based on the route size and the amount of solid waste and recycling collected.

Trash and recycling containers should be placed on the street with wheels against the curb by 5 a.m. on collection days.

Operating more efficiently means the City can balance the size of collection routes to provide more consistent service, preserve the longevity of collection vehicles by carrying the right sized loads and not overload our processing center.
