Per Arizona State Law, § 33-1243, an audit, review or compilation shall be completed no later than 180 days after the end of the association’s fiscal year and shall be made available on request to the owners within 30 days of its completion. An audit is an examination of the association’s financial statements, accounting records, internal controls and procedures by an independent certified public accountant. The purpose of an audit is to express an opinion as to whether the financial statements are fairly presented in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
